The Desert Retreat Bath
For this guest bathroom, I had warmth and light guide the design, something timeless but not too serious. I needed to function as the kids bathroom, while not feeling overly childish. Inspired by a desert landscape, playful wallpaper is paired with a textured terracotta floor. Zellige tiles in the shower mirror the these of imperfections found in the floor. The breeze blocks allow the light from the skylight to enter the shower and paints the walls with rich shadows. Custom shower drapery make the space feel more luxurious without compromising on the function of the bathtub. Finally, dried florals, a vintage step stool, and hand-painted accent tiles tie the room together.
